The 29-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, seven rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Kaspiy Aktau (#3, 0-6) with 35-point margin 92-57. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Astana to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Astana already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Lowery had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. Ponomaryov is one of the most experienced players at Astana and similarly like Robert Lowery has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.3ppg (#6). He also registered 5.7 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Astana's star - international swingman Rustam Murzagaliyev (196-G/F-92). Murzagaliyev scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Astana, helping his team with a 92-57 easy win against #3 ranked Kaspiy Aktau. Astana started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Murzagaliyev turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Murzagaliyev has a great season in Kazakhstan. Four Astana players scored in double figures. Astana's coach Ilias Papatheodorou felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
