Very significant was Astana's (#1, 6-0) victory against 3rd ranked Kaspiy Aktau (0-6) 70-52. They outrebounded Kaspiy Aktau 40-20 including a 24-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Astana looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Anton Ponomaryov (209-88, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds and Greek Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Azim Yagodkin (185-92) responded with 14 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Astana (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Kaspiy Aktau at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Astana are looking forward to face league's second-placed Barsy Atyrau at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kaspiy Aktau will have a break next round.
