The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Tobol (3-1) on the court of top-ranked Kapshagay on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Kapshagay 80-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tobol. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kapshagay forced 22 Tobol turnovers. Strangely Tobol outrebounded Kapshagay 40-28 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vyacheslav Raguyev (195-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and the former international swingman Konstantin Dvirniy (192-88) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Anton Bykov (200-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Kapshagay have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Tobol at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Almat.Legion and Kazygurt. Kapshagay are looking forward to face Bars (#5) in Petropavlovsk in the next round. Tobol will play at home against Kaspiy-2 and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Alma-Ata. Fourth ranked Almat.Legion (3-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Bars (2-2) 71-68 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by international guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) who scored that evening 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Alexander Danilchenko supported him with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Almat.Legion's coach Nikolaj Tanaseychuk allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 14 points and 5 assists by Russia point guard Valentin Kirilin (181-97) did not help to save the game for Bars. Almat.Legion moved-up to second place, which they share with Tobol and Kazygurt. Bars at the other side keep the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Barsy-2. Almat.Legion will play against Irtysh (#7) in Pavlodar in the next round where they are favorite. Bars will play at home against the league's leader Kapshagay and hope to get back on the winning track.
Tigers Ast. has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. (1-3) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Irtysh and Okzetpes. It was Kaspiy-2's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Tigers Ast. will meet at home higher ranked Barsy-2 (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kaspiy-2 will play against the league's second-placed Tobol (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

It was a very good performance for Kirill Nikulochkin who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kazygurt moved-up to second place, which they share with Almat.Legion and Tobol. Irtysh at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Kazygurt's next round opponent will be Okzetpes (#8) in Kokshetau where they are favorite. Irtysh will play at home against Almat.Legion and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 4 Okzetpes lost to Barsy-2 on the opponent's court 60-78.

Kapshagay - Tobol 80-76

Barsy-2 - Okzetpes 78-60

Everything could happen in Atyrau at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Barsy-2 and 7th ranked Okzetpes had identical 1-2 record. This time Barsy-2 used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kokshetau 78-60. Barsy-2 forced 23 Okzetpes turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for point guard Ilyas Zhunussov (175-98) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals. Point guard Adilhan Marat (183-99) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Barsy-2 players scored in double figures. Center Vladimir Ivanov (203-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Bekzhan Nurumbetov (186-88) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Okzetpes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barsy-2 (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bars.
