First defeat of Almat.Legion (2-1) against Tobol (3-0) 70-69 was the most important game of the last round. Tobol made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Almat.Legion turnovers. It was a good game for forward Anton Bykov (200-89) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Maksim Voeykov (195-85) contributed with 22 points and 5 steals for the winners. International guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) answered with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Almat.Legion. Almat.Legion's coach Nikolaj Tanaseychuk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Almat.Legion will play next round against Bars trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tobol will try to continue on its current victory against Kapshagay on the road.
Bars (2-1) recorded a loss in Petropavlovsk. Hosts were defeated by Kazygurt (2-1) 57-49. It was a great evening for swingman Kirill Nikulochkin (190-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points and 8 rebounds. Zhandos Kaliyev helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Andrey Surnin (190-92) with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kazygurt will play against Irtysh (#8) in Pavlodar in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bars will play on the road against Almat.Legion (#4) in Alma-Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Okzetpes (1-2) and Kaspiy-2 (0-3) in Kokshetau on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Okzetpes outscored guests from Aktau 82-55. It was a quality performance for Vladimir Ivanov who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Okzetpes' coach Vladimir Vasiliev felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Danil Davletbaev came up with 16 points and 7 steals for Kaspiy-2 in the defeat. Okzetpes will meet Barsy-2 (#6) in the next round. Kaspiy-2 will play against Tigers Ast. and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 3 Barsy-2 beat Irtysh on the road 70-54. Tigers Ast. lost to Kapshagay on its own court 54-73.

Tobol - Almat.Legion 70-69

There was a small surprise when Barsy-2 (1-2) beat Irtysh (1-2) in Pavlodar 70-54 on Friday. Barsy-2 forced 20 Irtysh turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Ilyas Zhunussov (175-98) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Swingman Bogdan Lachsh (195-99) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Askar Ahmetzhan (196-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Vitaly Prihodchenko (195-98) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Irtysh in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barsy-2 will meet at home Okzetpes (#7) in the next round. Irtysh will play against Kazygurt in Shymkent and hope to win that game.

Very expected game when Tigers Ast. (0-3) was smashed by Kapshagay (3-0) in Astana 73-54 on Friday. Kapshagay dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers Ast.'s 32. Kapshagay forced 20 Tigers Ast. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Konstantin Dvirniy (192-88) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Point guard Daniil Seleznev (186-90) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Four Kapshagay players scored in double figures. Kapshagay's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international point guard Egor Biryulin (186-86) came up with 15 points and 5 assists and guard Erzhan Nurbaev (182-90) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Tigers Ast. in the defeat. Kapshagay will meet at home Tobol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tigers Ast. will play against Kaspiy-2 (#9) in Aktau and hopes to get finally their first victory.
