Tobol and BK Almaty traded wins during midweek D1 games. The first game ended with BK Almaty celebrating a 78:68 win. Norenko stepped up for the winners with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Valery Gandlin (200-G-86) contributed 16 points for BK Almaty. Tobol led by 8 points at halftime 41:33. But BK Almaty went on a 26:16 run in the third term to turn things around. They held Tobol at 11 points in the fourth period and sealed the victory. Pavel Mikheev (200-F-83) answered with 26 points for Tobol. The Kostanay team bounced back next day. Pavel Mikheev stepped up with 25 points to pace Tobol to a hard-fought 70:68 victory. They led by as many as 14 points at the interval 45:31. BK Almaty stopped the rot in the third term. The visitors got within 9 points at the final break. BK Almaty cut the deficit even more in the fourth term but Tobol hung on to escape with the victory at the end. Konstantin Bulanov (201-F-90) delivered 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Sergey Volk (186-PG-85) answered with 21 points for BK Almaty. Valery Gandlin netted 14 points in the loss.
