PGE Turow destroy visiting BC Astana for the initial win in VTB League. The Polish debutant needed 5 games to taste success and improved to 1-4 record.
PGE Turow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Aaron Cel (203-F-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds. Michal Chylinski (190-G-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. David Simon (208-C-82, college: IPFW) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and Rawle Marshall (201-SF-82, agency: Beo Basket, college: Oakland) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BC Astana. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
PGE Turow left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Neptunas and Azovmash. Loser BC Astana dropped to the third position with two games lost. PGE Turow will face higher ranked Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Astana will play at home against BC Donetsk.

The game between third ranked Aktobe (4-3) and fourth ranked Tigers Ast. (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Aktobe was crushed by Tigers Ast. in Astana 73-53. BK Astana (National League) inked 29-year old American guard Malcolm Grant (185-88, college: Miami, FL). He already started the season at Nevezis in Lithuanian LKL league. In 10 games he recorded 13.9ppg, 2.1rpg and 4.5apg this season. A very good year in his career as he League Player of the Week. Grant also played 9 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 11.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 4.0apg. The last season Grant played at Tajfun in Slovenian Liga Nova KBM.
