Kaspiy Aktau successfully tipped off the new season. They claimed back-to-back victories over Tobol.
The Aktau team earned a 78:62 victory in the first game. The hosts used a 25:11 run in the second quarter to clear off for good in this one. Dmitriy Gavrilov (205-F-86) nailed 15 points to lead the charge. Gytis Andrijauskas (188-PG-86) added 14 points for Kaspiy. Pavel Mikheev (200-F-83) answered with 17 points for Tobol. Artem Chemyakin (208-C/F-84, agency: New Trend Agency) had 15 points in the loss.
The second game had the same scenario. Kaspiy went on a 28:14 run in the second frame to take a 50:35 halftime lead. They stretched the gap to 17 points at the final break. Tobol narrowed the deficit but lost the game 82:94 at the end. Reinis Strupovics (192-G-87) unleashed 32 points for Kaspiy. Dzhanysh Adiev (190-G-93) contributed 21 points and 7 rebounds for the Aktau team. Pavel Mikheev responded with 27 points for Tobol.

Proximus Spirou Charleroi (Scooore League) signed 26-year old American forward Adam Kemp (208-107kg-90, college: Marist). He played last season at BK Astana in Kazakhstan D1 league. But in only one VTB United League game he recorded just 1 point, 1 rebound and 1 assist. He played in the final of Kazakhstan League.
