Barsy Atyrau enter 2012/2013 season in Baltic League with a loss from Lithuanian Siauliai. The latter handed the team from Kazakhstan an 81:69 loss. Siauliai used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Atyrau on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. Barsy Atyrau was better in second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots during the game. Siauliai had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Papa Dia (208-F-87, college: SMU) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Laurynas Samenas (192-G-88) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Zambalist Fredrick (183-G-86, college: S.Carolina) responded with 20 points and 6 assists and Ukrainian center Vadim Matyukevych (208-C-80) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Barsy Atyrau will play on the road against Naglis Palangos in Palanga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
