BC Astana got another crucial reinforcement for the next season. The team landed American center David Simon (207-C-82, college: IPFW). He spent this season with Radnicki Kragujevac and was named 'Eurobasket.com All-Adriatic League Player of the Year -12'. For 26 games Simon had 19.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.4 bpg and 1.2 apg. He was the top-scorer of the championship. Simon also played 17 games for Radnicki in Serbian league averaging 14.4 points and 5.2 rebounds. They reached Playoff Semifinals. Radnicki also reached Cup Semis in Serbia. David Simon spent 2010/11 season in Korea. There he also shined with 20.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.6 bpg and 1.5 apg in 42 games with Anyang KGC. He was named to Asia-Basket.com Korean KBL All-Imports Team -11. From 2008 to 2010, David Simon played for French Strasbourg IG. He also has experience from Dijon, Samara, Standart Samara reg. Toliatti and Lukoil Akademik. Simon won the Bulgarian league title with Lukoil in 2006. It was his first season as a pro. He graduated in 2005 at Indiana University-Purdue University-Fort Wayne.

He tallied 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game at the tournament.
