BC Astana kept another player for the next season. After Rawle Marshall (201-G-82, agency: Beo Basket, college: Oakland), who signed a one-year contract extension recently, the team announced signing of another one-season deal with Branko Cvetkovic (200-G/F-84, agency: Beo Basket). Astana also kept its Head Coach Matteo Boniciolli (agency: Beo Basket) for the next two years. Cvetkovic appeared 13 times in VTB United Legaue this season averaging 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. Astana registered 7 wins in 16 games. In domestic championship the team has impressive 20-0 record. Branko Cvetkovic joined Astana last summer from BC Donetsk. With Donetsk he was the regular season champion in Ukraine and later reached Playoff Finals. Cvetkovic was named Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague Bosman Player of the Year -11. He was also awarded with Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague 1st Team -11. In the past, Cvetkovic played for Scavolini, FMP Zeleznik, Zaragoza, Panionios and Girona. Cvetkovic played for the Serbian National Team in 2007 and 2008.

Anton Ponomaryov joined BC Astana back in 2011. Last season he notched 7.8 points, 5.3 rebounds per game in VTB League. He won the championship and Cup titles with BC Astana this season. Previously the centre had stints in Serbia, Russia and Kazakhstan. Anton Ponomaryov earned All-Kazakhstan League 1st Team appearance back in 2010. He has been the member of the Kazakhstan National Team since 2005. The centre also played for U18, U20 and University National Teams. Anton Ponomaryov shone at the 2009 Asian Championship in China. He tallied 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game at the tournament.
