Astana Kazakhstan League Champion
Kazakhstan Championship 2006-2007 came to the end. For the third
consecutive time vindicated Astana Tigers their champion title in
the final play-off series with
Kostonay Tobol. The decisive match was conducted in Kostonay. Tobol,
which lost in series 0-2, was set resolute. One could see that in
the firs part of meeting.
Kostonay won the first time 38:37. In the third quarter Tigers began
to lead 60:61.
But the end of the game was settled in the last 5 minutes.
Well organized work in defence and efficient performance on the
forward-line let Astana Tigers do the final dash and score the

Take Kazakhstan Gold Tigers
from Astana won Kazakhstan basketball Gold for the second straight season,
reports “Nash Sport”

The Tigers were down 2:0 in the best-of-three series, however they managed
an impressive comeback, winning three games in a row.
They even took game 5 of the series against Kostanai Tobol (second place)
despite the injury of one of their leaders Yevgeniy Isakov. He suffered a
broken right thumb, which, however, did not force him out of the game.
Isakov is expected to recover in three weeks.
Kapshagai TCM won this year’s bronze medals.
