Premier League Round 7: Leader Al Riyadi loses to Orthodox - Jan 12, 2017

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Riyadi (6-1) in Amman on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Orthodox (7-0) 69-64. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Orthodox have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Al Riyadi dropped to the second place with one game lost.
Bottom-ranked Al Horiyah (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 55-33 loss to fifth ranked Kofer Yoba (3-3) in Irbid. Kofer Yoba moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Jalil. Al Horiyah lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Deer Abi Sa'ed.

Al Jalil maintains fourth place with 3-3 record, which they share with Kofer Yoba. Deer Abi Sa'ed lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Al Horiyah.

Kofer Yoba - Al Horiyah 55-33

Bottom-ranked Al Horiyah (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 55-33 loss to fifth ranked Kofer Yoba (3-3) in Irbid. Kofer Yoba moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Jalil. Al Horiyah lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Deer Abi Sa'ed.

Deer Abi Sa'ed - Al Jalil 53-95

Al Ahli celebrate League 2017/2018 title - 14 days ago
Al Ahli celebrated Jordan Basketball League 2017/2018 title. In the Final stage they beat kafr yoba 82-80 in the last game. Being tied at 62:62 both teams stayed within 1-2 points at the end of the game as Al Ahli grabbed the valuable win. Later Al Riyadi Aramex beat Jazira 82-75 and Orthodox edged Star Jordan 93-82. Al Wihdat overcame AL Jubaiha 102-80.   [read more]

WABA Champions Cup 2018 relocated to Jordan from Iraq - 3 months ago
West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) officials have announced that the WABA Champions Cup 2018 will be relocated to Jordan from Iraq - with the tournament dates remaining March 12-16. The WABA decided to change the hosting country of the 18th edition of the Champions Cup due to security concerns of the players in Baghdad.
