Premier League Round 5: Al Horiyah defeats leader Al Riyadi - Jan 20, 2016

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Riyadi (4-1) in Amman on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Horiyah (5-0) 74-68. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Al Horiyah have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Al Horiyah maintains first place with 5-0 record. Al Riyadi at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Orthodox. Al Horiyah are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nashama (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Riyadi will play against Ghazat Hash. (#6) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Premier League top team - Al Horiyah (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Kofer Yoba (1-4) in Irbid 73-66. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al Horiyah. Newly promoted Al Horiyah maintains first place with 5-0 record. Kofer Yoba at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Ghazat Hash.. Al Horiyah will play against bottom-ranked Nashama (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kofer Yoba will play against Al Awdah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Nashama is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fifth ranked Al Jalil (3-2) 70-54 on Monday evening. Al Jalil moved-up to fourth place. Nashama lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Al Jalil will meet at home higher ranked Orthodox (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nashama will play against the league's leader Al Horiyah (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Al Riyadi moved-up to second place, which they share with Orthodox. Al Awdah at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Al Riyadi's next round opponent will be Ghazat Hash. (#6) in Irbid. Al Awdah will play on the road against Kofer Yoba in Irbid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Kofer Yoba was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 38-29 second half run of Al Horiyah. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al Horiyah. Newly promoted Al Horiyah maintains first place with 5-0 record. Kofer Yoba at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Ghazat Hash.. Al Horiyah will play against bottom-ranked Nashama (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kofer Yoba will play against Al Awdah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Al Awdah - Al Riyadi 65-72

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Awdah won third quarter 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Riyadi moved-up to second place, which they share with Orthodox. Al Awdah at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Al Riyadi's next round opponent will be Ghazat Hash. (#6) in Irbid. Al Awdah will play on the road against Kofer Yoba in Irbid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Al Ahli celebrate League 2017/2018 title - 14 days ago
Al Ahli celebrated Jordan Basketball League 2017/2018 title. In the Final stage they beat kafr yoba 82-80 in the last game. Being tied at 62:62 both teams stayed within 1-2 points at the end of the game as Al Ahli grabbed the valuable win. Later Al Riyadi Aramex beat Jazira 82-75 and Orthodox edged Star Jordan 93-82. WABA Champions Cup 2018 relocated to Jordan from Iraq - 3 months ago
West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) officials have announced that the WABA Champions Cup 2018 will be relocated to Jordan from Iraq - with the tournament dates remaining March 12-16. The WABA decided to change the hosting country of the 18th edition of the Champions Cup due to security concerns of the players in Baghdad.
