The biggest surprise of round 4 in Premier League was guest Al Awdah's (#4) road victory over Ghazat Hash. (#7) 74-67 on Friday evening. Ghazat Hash. was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-14 charge of Al Awdah, which allowed them to win the game. Al Awdah maintains fourth position with 2-2 record, which they share with Al Jalil. Ghazat Hash. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kofer Yoba. Al Awdah is looking forward to face league's second-placed Al Riyadi in Amman in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ghazat Hash. will play on the road against Orthodox (#3) in Amman and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Another exciting game took place in Irbid where fifth ranked Al Jalil (2-2) edged by three points 6th ranked Kofer Yoba (1-3) 63-60. Al Jalil moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Awdah. Newly promoted Kofer Yoba keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Ghazat Hash.. Al Jalil will play against bottom-ranked Nashama (#8) in the next round. Kofer Yoba will play against the league's leader Al Horiyah to get more than just one victory in their record.
Bottom-ranked Nashama (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-44 loss to third ranked Orthodox (3-1) in Amman on Friday evening. Orthodox have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader Al Horiyah. Nashama at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Orthodox will meet at home Ghazat Hash. (#6) in the next round. Nashama will play against Al Jalil and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Kofer Yoba - Al Jalil 60-63

Al Ahli celebrate League 2017/2018 title - 14 days ago
Al Ahli celebrated Jordan Basketball League 2017/2018 title. In the Final stage they beat kafr yoba 82-80 in the last game. Being tied at 62:62 both teams stayed within 1-2 points at the end of the game as Al Ahli grabbed the valuable win. Later Al Riyadi Aramex beat Jazira 82-75 and Orthodox edged Star Jordan 93-82. Al Wihdat overcame AL Jubaiha 102-80.   [read more]

WABA Champions Cup 2018 relocated to Jordan from Iraq - 3 months ago
West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) officials have announced that the WABA Champions Cup 2018 will be relocated to Jordan from Iraq - with the tournament dates remaining March 12-16. The WABA decided to change the hosting country of the 18th edition of the Champions Cup due to security concerns of the players in Baghdad.
