Puerto Rico breezed past Jordan in the opening game of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Peter John Ramos (222-C-85) accounted for 20 points in the victory. Jordan suffered the second straight defeat and need to pack their bags.
Puerto Rico opened the game with a 19:2 run to set the tone. They accumulated a 29:11 lead ten minutes into the encounter. Puerto Rico extended the lead in the second quarter. They established a 54:22 halftime buffer. Things just went from bad to worse for Jordan in this one. They never found the right tempo facing an insurmountable 32:72 deficit at the final break. Puerto Rico never looked back and coasted to the victory at the end. Ricardo Sanchez (212-C-87) delivered 12 points, while Nathan Peavy (203-F-85, agency: Arete Sports Agency, college: Miami, OH) added 11 points for the winning team. Osama Daghles (198-G-79, college: Midwestern St.) responded with 17 points for Jordan. Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) had 9 points in the loss.

WABA Champions Cup 2018 relocated to Jordan from Iraq - 1 month ago
West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) officials have announced that the WABA Champions Cup 2018 will be relocated to Jordan from Iraq - with the tournament dates remaining March 12-16. The WABA decided to change the hosting country of the 18th edition of the Champions Cup due to security concerns of the players in Baghdad. Dinamica Mantova (Serie A2) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old Jordanian ex-international guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU, agency: Octagon Europe) from Fortituto Kontatto Bologna. In 17 Serie A2 games in Italy he recorded 12.7ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.2apg this season.
