Greece had little problems in their Olympic Qualifying Tournament opener. They cruised past Jordan A opener. Kostas Papanikolaou (206-F-90) came up with 19 points to lead the effort.
The teams stayed close throughout opening minutes. But the Hellenes bridged the first and second quarter with a 30:2 run to take a 42:12 lead. They arrived at the interval up by 35 points 53:18. Jordan had little to answer with throughout the third quarter. Greece established a comfortable 85:43 lead into the fourth frame. The Hellenes easily passed 100-point mark and cruised to the victory at the end. Georgios Printezis (206-F-85, agency: FCM) delivered 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, while Dimitrios Mavroeidis (208-C-85, agency: FCM) added 15 points for the winners. Enver Soobzokov (201-G/F-78, college: CS San Bernar.) answered with 14 points for Jordan. Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

WABA Champions Cup 2018 relocated to Jordan from Iraq - 2 months ago
West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) officials have announced that the WABA Champions Cup 2018 will be relocated to Jordan from Iraq - with the tournament dates remaining March 12-16. The WABA decided to change the hosting country of the 18th edition of the Champions Cup due to security concerns of the players in Baghdad. Dinamica Mantova (Serie A2) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old Jordanian ex-international guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU, agency: Octagon Europe) from Fortituto Kontatto Bologna. In 17 Serie A2 games in Italy he recorded 12.7ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.2apg this season.
