Jordan finished the Super 4 Israel Sarmiento Cup tournament in Venezuela. The Asian team suffered three losses in as many games. Jordan faced Angola in the final round. Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) put on another impressive scoring performance but could not prevent Jordan from losing the game.
Jordan started the game strongly. They ensured a 22:18 lead ten minutes into the game. Angola however quickly gained control. They outscored Jordan 24:14 in the second quarter to take a 6-point halftime lead. Angola exploded with 27 points in the third period to stretch their lead to 17 points at the final break. Jordan and Angola exchanged baskets throughout the fourth frame as the African team cruised to the victory. Zaid Abbas posted 27 points for Jordan. Mousa Alawadi (188-G-85) added 13 points, while Mohammad Shaher (210-C-90) chipped in 11 points in the loss.

West Asian Basketball Championship tips off - 24 days ago
Jordan hosts the West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) Championship with an opening match against Syria on Sunday. The Kingdom is joined by Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Iran in the six-team tournament hosted at Fuheis Club.
