Venezuela claimed a confident win over Jordan in the exhibition encounter in Caracas. Yorman Zamora (190-F-89) stepped up with 16 points to lead the winners.
Venezuela stunned their Asian opponents in the first half. Venezuela held Jordan to 12 points in the half to take a 22-point halftime lead 34:12. The margin just kept on growing in the second part of the game. Venezuela ensured a 32-point lead with one period remaining. They did not slow down and raced to a massive victory at the end. John Cox (195-G-81, college: USF) added 12 points for Venezuela. Gregory Echenique (205-C-90) contributed 11 points for the hosts. Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) answered with 10 points for Jordan. Osama Daghles (198-G-79, college: Midwestern St.), Mohammad Shaher (210-C-90) and Ali Jamal (205-C/F-88) had 6 points each in the loss.

West Asian Basketball Championship tips off - 24 days ago
Jordan hosts the West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) Championship with an opening match against Syria on Sunday. The Kingdom is joined by Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Iran in the six-team tournament hosted at Fuheis Club.
