Jordan stayed on the winning track at the WABA Championship. The hosts claimed the second consecutive win beating Syria in Amman. Ali Jamal (205-C/F-88) came up with 13 points to pace the winners. Syria fell at 0-2 record after the loss.
The visitors enjoyed a slightly better start to the game. They grabbed an 18:14 lead ten minutes into the encounter. But Jordan stopped the bleeding and pulled in front for a 36:30 halftime advantage. Jordan dominated in the third quarter. They held their opponents to 8 points and surged ahead for a 17-point lead 55:38. Syria tried desperately to erase the deficit in the fourth but came up short of win at the end. Issa Kamel (194-F/G-83) delivered 10 points for Jordan. Mohammad Shaher (210-C-90) netted 9 points in the victory. Michel Maadanly (194-G-81) answered with game-high 24 points and 9 rebounds for Syria. Abdul Wahab Hamowi (217-C-90) had 18 points and 9 boards in the loss.
