Orthodox earn third win in a row, clinch title - May 7, 2012

Orthodox earned Premier League title. They came back from 0-2 deficit in the championship series to conquer the trophy. Orthodox claimed the third straight win in the championship series over ASU tonight. Zaid Abbas (203-F-83) and Osama Daghles (198-G-79, college: Midwestern St.) knocked down 23 points each to lead the winners. ASU got to the better start. They accumulated a 22:17 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew at 9-point mark midway through the second period. Orthodox denied the distance and surged ahead however ASU regained control posting a 44:41 halftime lead. ASU stretched the margin to 9 points once again. And once again Orthodox reacted trimming the deficit to three points with ten minutes remaining 59:62. ASU seemed well in control of their fate when they accumulated an 11-point lead early in the fourth period 70:59. However Orthodox answered with a 12:0 run to spur in front. Orthodox soon gained an 8-point lead and then hung on to escape with a tough victory at the end. Eid also netted 23 points for Orthodox. Mousa Alawadi (180-G/F-85) reacted with 27 points for ASU. Islam Abbaas (203-C-80) had 16 points in the loss.
Aramex celebrated the Jordan Cup title this year. They defeated underdogs Kafer Yoba in the title clash. Aramex thus regained the trophy they celebrated in 2002. Jamal Ali Ahmed knocked down 17 points to pace Aramex. Aramex strongly entered the game. They grabbed a 13:5 lead early on. The margin slowly grew in the next quarters. Aramex enjoyed a 15-point buffer in the third term but Kafer Yoba did not surrender. They erased the gap and even pulled ahead. However Aramex used all of their experience to eventually tame their opponents and seal the victory at the end. Ayman Idais (205-C-78, agency: Court Side) and Mohammad Jamal (195-F-89) finished with 15 points each for Aramex. Ibrahim Bassam (204-C-87) answered with 16 points for Kafer Yoba. Khaldoun Abu Rukayeah and Nidal Al Shareef chipped in 12 points each in the loss.
