B League D2 round 20 most important game was a victory of Dragonflies over one of their biggest challengers Shinshu BW 80-73 on Sunday night. American guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) contributed with 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragonflies have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-9 record. Shinshu BW at the other side dropped to the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sendai 89ers and Cyberdyne IR. Dragonflies are looking forward to face Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Gunma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Third-ranked Cyberdyne IR (9-10) was very close to win a game against first ranked Akita Happinets (17-2). Akita Happinets managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Akita Happinets maintains first position with 17-2 record. Cyberdyne IR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sendai 89ers and Shinshu BW. Akita Happinets will play against Aomori Watts (#5) on the road in the next round. Cyberdyne IR will play against the league's second-placed Orange Vikings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Fukushima (12-6) against fifth ranked Gunma (9-9) on Sunday night. Host Fukushima was crushed by Gunma in Fukushima 89-69. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by Ryan Stephan who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by Deon Jones did not help to save the game for Fukushima. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma moved-up to third place. Loser Fukushima keeps the second position with six games lost. Gunma will meet at home Shinshu BW (#5) in the next round. Fukushima will play against Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Fukuoka Rizing (16-3) which played road game in Kumamoto against second-ranked Kumamoto V. (13-6). First ranked Fukuoka Rizing managed to get a 10-point victory 76-66. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. The best player for the winners was Pape Faye who scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Fukuoka Rizing's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains first position with 16-3 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Fukuoka Rizing's next round opponent will be Yamagata (#4) at home. Kumamoto V. will play against the league's second-placed Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
B League D2 top team - Toyotsu FE (12-7) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Bambitious Nara (2-17) in Nagoya 94-82. Masahiro Narita orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyotsu FE have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-7 record. Bambitious Nara lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face league's second-placed Kanazawa Sam. in Ishikawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bambitious Nara will play on the road against Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 20 Aomori Watts was beaten by Yamagata on the road 87-79. Iwate Big Bulls lost to Sendai 89ers on its own court 69-79.
The most impressive performance of 20th round was 9 points and 10 rebounds by Josh Duinker of Kumamoto V..

Kumamoto V. - Fukuoka Rizing 66-76

An interesting game for Fukuoka Rizing (16-3) which played road game in Kumamoto against second-ranked Kumamoto V. (13-6). First ranked Fukuoka Rizing managed to get a 10-point victory 76-66. It was a great shooting night for Sendai 89ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Iwate Big Bulls' players. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American center Michael Buchanan (213-94, college: USC Upstate) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Decorey Jones (201-90, college: Faulkner) added 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls.
