Anthony
McHenry
Shinshu Brave Warriors Nagano (B League D2) inked experienced 34-year old American small forward Anthony McHenry (202-101kg-83, college: Georgia Tech). He has played for the last nine years at Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa in the B League. In 62 games he averaged 7.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0bpg last season. B League D2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. McHenry helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in B League West Division. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Japanese B League All-Star Game.
In 2006 (a year after he left the college) McHenry was drafted by Fort Worth Flyers (D-League) in seventh round (76th overall).
He attended Georgia Tech until 2005 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements McHenry won Japanese BJ League Western Division championship title in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2016. He received also Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese BJ League 2nd Team award in 2010 and 2015.
McHenry has played previously professionally in United Kingdom (Leicester Riders) and D-League (Ft.Worth F.).
His game is described as: He is capable of defending four positions, and can handle the ball well.
Versatile player whose lanky build and long arms are big assets on the defensive end, where he has made his most important contributions for the team
