Josh Davis
American Josh Davis (203-F-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Shimane SM and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com B League D2 Player of the Week award for round 56.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Kagoshima (#6, 7-47) with 24-point margin 96-72. It allowed Shimane SM to consolidate first place in the Japanese B League D2. Shimane SM have a solid 44-10 record. It's Davis' second year at Shimane SM and it's hard to imagine this team without him. San Diego State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davis is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 61.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American forward Scootie Randall (198-F-90) of Cyberdyne IR. Randall impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Cyberdyne IR to another comfortable win 87-68 over slightly higher-ranked Gunma (#1, 35-19) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Cyberdyne IR consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 26-28 record. Randall is one of the most experienced players at Cyberdyne IR and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.1ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.8rpg and 3.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Ryan Stephan (208-C-94) of Tokyo Excel. (#4). Stephan scored 25 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Stephan's great performance Tokyo Excel. lost 81-91 to #3 ranked Tokyo Z. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Tokyo Excel. not to end season at such low position in Central, however are less than slim as they have already lost 33 games, recording just twenty victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Stephan could try to bring Tokyo Excel.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Stephan has individually a great season in Japan. After 50 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kyle Barone (208-C-89) of Aomori Watts - 27 points and 14 rebounds
5. Craig Williams (206-C-89) of Ehime OV - 30 points and 6 rebounds
6. Wayne Marshall (211-C-86) of Shimane SM - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Shimon Takayama (180-PG-90) of Tokyo Z - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Joel James (208-F-94) of Kumamoto V. - 20 points and 13 rebounds
9. Deon Jones (198-G-93) of Tokyo Z - 23 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Aziz N'Diaye (213-C-88) of Hiroshima D. - 15 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
