Ryan
Rossiter
27-year old power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-F/C-89) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Tochigi Brex and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 54.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 24 rebounds, while his team beat Hokkaido L. (#4, 21-32) 78-68. It allowed Tochigi Brex to consolidate first place in the Japanese league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tochigi Brex has a very solid 42-11 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Rossiter has many years of experience at Tochigi Brex, through which he has constantly improved. Siena College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rossiter is in league's top in points (9th best: 17.3ppg) and averages solid 52.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Josh Harrellson (208-F-89) of league's second-best Osaka Evessa. He is American forward in his first season at Osaka Evessa. In the last game Harrellson recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 19 rebounds. Of course he led Osaka Evessa to another comfortable win 92-73 over the lower-ranked Nagoya DD (#5, 23-30) being unquestionably team leader. Osaka Evessa's second position in West has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 26-27 record. Harrellson is a newcomer at Osaka Evessa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Sam Willard (205-F-88, agency: Pensack Sports) of Toyama Grouses (#5). Willard showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and ten assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Toyama Grouses, leading his team to a 83-80 win against the higher-ranked Toshiba BT (#1, 44-9). Toyama Grouses can only dream about fighting for top spots in Central. They have rather bad season and 15-38 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Willard he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Willard has individually a great season in Japan. After 53 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.4rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dexter Pittman (208-C-88) of Toyama Grouses - 23 points and 12 rebounds
5. Jeff Ayres (206-F-87) of Toyota Alvark - 23 points and 10 rebounds
6. Nick Fazekas (211-F-85) of Toshiba BT - 27 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yu Okada (184-SG-83) of Toyama Grouses - 24 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Ryusei Shinoyama (178-PG-88) of Toshiba BT - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Craig Brackins (208-PF-87) of Shiga L-Stars - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Tyler Stone (203-PF-91) of Chiba Jets - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
