Deon Jones
23-year old guard Deon Jones (198-G-93) had a great game in the last round for Tokyo Z and receives a Asia-basket.com B League D2 Player of the Week award for round 54.
He had the game-high 31 points adding eight rebounds for Tokyo Z in his team's victory, helping them to beat Shinshu BW (#6, 12-41) 93-80. Tokyo Z maintains the 3rd position in their group in Japanese B League D2. Tokyo Z is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 23-30 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tokyo Z's top player in his first season with the team. Monmouth University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.4ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-G-88) of Ehime OV. He is a guard in his second season at Ehime OV. In the last game Tatsuhiko recorded impressive 32 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Ehime OV lost that game 79-87 to slightly lower-ranked Kagawa FA (#5, 16-36). Ehime OV managed to keep the same 4th spot in West. His team's 26-26 record is not bad at all. Tatsuhiko is well-known at Ehime OV and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Scootie Randall (198-F-90) of Cyberdyne IR (#4). Randall scored 26 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Cyberdyne IR, leading his team to a 85-63 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Aomori Watts (#5, 23-29). The chances of Cyberdyne IR ranking at the top of East, however are very questionable as they have already lost 27 games, recording just twenty five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Randall could help Cyberdyne IR to bring them higher in the standings. Randall has a great season in Japan. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.8ppg (best scorer) and assists with 3.0apg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aziz N'Diaye (213-C-88) of Hiroshima D. - 22 points and 9 rebounds
5. Bikramjit Gill (201-F-92) of Kagoshima - 26 points and 11 rebounds
6. Rick Rickert (211-C/F-83) of Cyberdyne IR - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yuichi Ishikawa (173-PG-87) of Yamagata - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Seth Tarver (196-G/F-88) of Yamagata - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Solomon Alabi (216-C-88) of Toyotsu FE - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Will Creekmore (205-C-89) of Tokyo Z - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
