Nick Fazekas
31-year old forward Nick Fazekas (211-F-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Toshiba BT and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 48.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Niigata Albirex (#4, 20-27) with 19-point margin 84-65. It allowed Toshiba BT to consolidate first place in the Japanese league. Toshiba BT have a solid 39-8 record. In the team's last game Fazekas had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Toshiba BT, through which he has constantly improved. The University of Nevada graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fazekas is league's best scorer averaging so far 27.7ppg. Fazekas is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.3rpg) and averages solid 57.5% FGP and 44.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Parker (202-F-81) of Chiba Jets. He is American forward in his first season at Chiba Jets. In the last game Parker recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Chiba Jets cruised to a 98-88 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Hokkaido L. (#4, 17-30). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Chiba Jets consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 33-14 record is not bad at all. Parker is a newcomer at Chiba Jets and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Josh Childress (203-F/G-83) of league's second-best Sanen. Childress scored 28 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Childress' great performance Sanen lost 70-77 to #3 ranked Hitachi SR. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sanen needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Central. Their record is 26 victories and 21 lost games. Childress has a great season in Japan. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.1ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 9.4rpg (6th best). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 55.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tyler Stone (203-PF-91) of Chiba Jets - 30 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84) of Hokkaido L. - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Julian Mavunga (203-PF-90) of Shiga L-Stars - 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Jerome Tillman (201-F-87) of Nagoya DD - 25 points and 16 rebounds
8. Dexter Pittman (208-C-88) of Toyama Grouses - 15 points and 15 rebounds
9. Jeffrey Gibbs (188-F-80) of Tochigi Brex - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Naoki Uto (188-F-91) of Toyama Grouses - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
