Nick Fazekas
American Forward Nick Fazekas (211-F-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Toshiba BT, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, nine rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Sendai 89ers (#6, 11-30) 91-86. It allowed Toshiba BT to consolidate first place in the Japanese B League. Toshiba BT have a solid 35-6 record. In the team's last game Fazekas had a remarkable 55.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Toshiba BT, through which he has constantly improved. Former The University of Nevada star has very solid stats this year. Fazekas is league's best scorer averaging so far 27.9ppg. Fazekas is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.2rpg) and averages impressive 57.5% FGP and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-G-85) of Hitachi SR. Hirose had a very good evening with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Hitachi SR to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked SeaHorses (#1, 31-10) 87-66. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Central. Hitachi SR consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 20-21 record. Hirose is one of the most experienced players at Hitachi SR and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-F-80) of league's top team Tochigi Brex. Gibbs scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Gibbs' great performance Tochigi Brex lost 73-89 to #2 ranked Toyota Alvark. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tochigi Brex needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in East. Their record is 32 victories and 9 lost games. Gibbs has a very solid season. In 41 games in Japan he scored 11.4ppg. He also has 7.8rpg and FGP: 54.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ryan Rossiter (204-F/C-89) of Tochigi Brex - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Diante Garrett (196-PG-88) of Toyota Alvark - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-C-89) of Sendai 89ers - 20 points and 8 rebounds
7. Wendell White (198-G-84) of Sendai 89ers - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Yuta Tabuse (173-G-80) of Tochigi Brex - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Ira Brown (193-F-82) of Hitachi SR - 15 points and 10 rebounds
10. Gavin Edwards (206-F/C-88) of SeaHorses - 14 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
