Brian Harper
American Forward Brian Harper (208-F-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tokyo HT, receiving a Asia-basket.com B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Aisin AW (#6, 13-17) with 19-point margin 105-86. Tokyo HT maintains the 4th position in Japanese B League D3. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tokyo HT will need more victories to improve their 17-11 record. In the team's last game Harper had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tokyo HT's top player in his first season with the team. Former Paine College star has very solid stats this year. Harper is in league's top in points (7th best: 14.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.7rpg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 56.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Kyle Richardson (201-F-91) of Otsuka A.. Richardson had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Otsuka A. lost that game 66-83 to slightly lower-ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (#5, 13-17). Otsuka A. managed to keep the same 3rd spot in the standings. His team's 18-10 record is not bad at all. Richardson is a newcomer at Otsuka A., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.1ppg (#1). He also registered 10.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-90) of league's top team Kanazawa Sam.. Fitzgerald got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Kanazawa Sam., leading his team to a 74-67 win against #2 ranked Fukuoka Rizing in a game of the week. Kanazawa Sam. confirms their top position in the standings. Fitzgerald has a great season in Japan. After 36 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.4ppg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Brian Butch (211-C-84) of Fukuoka Rizing - 23 points and 13 rebounds
5. Alex Jones (206-F/C-87) of Tokyo HT - 18 points and 11 rebounds
6. Yoshikawa Osamuakira (182-PG-92) of Tokyo Big Blue - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Joe Wolfinger (216-C-85) of Otsuka A. - 16 points and 8 rebounds
8. Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-G/F-86) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 23 points and 3 rebounds
9. Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-G-88) of Aisin AW - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Kengo Funabashi (93) of Tokyo Big Blue - 18 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
