Ray Nixon
32-year old forward Ray Raymond (203-F-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for Otsuka A. and receives a Asia-basket.com B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Tokyo HT (#4, 15-11) 89-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Otsuka A. maintains the 3rd position in Japanese B League D3. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Otsuka A. will need more victories to improve their 17-9 record. In the team's last game Raymond had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. It's his second year at Otsuka A. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Ray Raymond averages this season 13.8ppg and 7.0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Andrew Fitzgerald (202-C/F-90) of top-ranked Kanazawa Sam.. He is American in his second season at Kanazawa Sam.. In the last game Fitzgerald recorded impressive double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Kanazawa Sam. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (#9, 2-24) 99-35. Of course Kanazawa Sam. still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 24-2 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Fitzgerald is well-known at Kanazawa Sam. and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.4ppg (#3). He also registered 7.6 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward R.J. Slawson (206-F-92) of Tokyo Cinq R. (#6). Slawson scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Tokyo Cinq R., leading his team to a 81-65 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Toyoda Gosei (#8, 4-22). The chances of Tokyo Cinq R. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Slawson could help Tokyo Cinq R. to bring them higher in the standings. Slawson has a great season in Japan. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.4rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Eiji Sumihiro (171-PG-89) of Toyoda Gosei - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Tiras Wade (200-F-81) of Saitama Bron. - 25 points and 5 rebounds
6. Gyno Pomare (203-F-86) of Kanazawa Sam. - 17 points and 13 rebounds
7. Matthew Kendrick (215-C-90) of Toyoda Gosei - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Brent Jennings (193-G-88) of Saitama Bron. - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Edward Morris (204-C/F-84) of Tokyo HT - 20 points and 8 rebounds
10. Kei Kato (172-PG-93) of Aisin AW - 20 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Fast, strong, big, smooth, phenom, hope, slam dunker, highlight film. The list goes on and on when you think of words and phrases to describe Japan's hoopster Rui Hachimura (203-F-98). You can probably now add 'rock star' to the list. On Friday night, the 20-year-old athletic forward made his debut on the top-flight team of the Japan men's national squad in the first of a two-game exhibition series against South Korea at Ota City General Gymnasium. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa adds Kantake to their roster - 11 hours ago

The previous (16-17) season Kantake played at Shimane Magic where in 9 B League games he averaged 8.1ppg and 1.8rpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final.
