Josh
Childress
Experienced American Josh Childress (203-F/G-83) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Sanen and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 41.
The 33-year old swingman had a double-double of 34 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Nagoya DD (#2, 21-20) 93-88. Sanen maintains the 2nd position in their group in Japanese B League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sanen will need more victories to improve their 25-16 record. In the team's last game Childress had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Sanen's top player in his first season with the team. Stanford University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Childress is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 9.2rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 55.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American forward Josh Harrellson (208-F-89) of Osaka Evessa. Harrellson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Osaka Evessa to another comfortable win 100-85 over slightly lower-ranked Niigata Albirex (#4, 19-22) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in West. Osaka Evessa consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 21-20 record is not bad at all. Harrellson is a newcomer at Osaka Evessa and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Marcus Dove (206-PF-85) of Kyoto Hannar. (#4). Dove scored 20 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Dove's great performance Kyoto Hannar. lost 66-75 to #3 ranked Hitachi SR. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Kyoto Hannar. ranking at the top of West, however are very questionable as they have already lost 21 games, recording just twenty victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Dove could help Kyoto Hannar. to bring them higher in the standings. Dove has a very solid season. In 38 games in Japan he scored 11.5ppg. He also has 7.6rpg and FGP: 60.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Julian Mavunga (203-PF-90) of Shiga L-Stars - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dexter Pittman (208-C-88) of Toyama Grouses - 27 points and 6 rebounds
6. Daniel Miller (211-C-91) of Hokkaido L. - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jerome Tillman (201-F-87) of Nagoya DD - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Olu Ashaolu (200-PF-88) of Sanen - 22 points and 5 rebounds
9. Daiki Tanaka (191-F-91) of Toyota Alvark - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Hilton Armstrong (210-C-84) of Chiba Jets - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
