Nick Fazekas
31-year old forward Nick Fazekas (211-F-85) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Toshiba BT and receives a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 39.
He had a double-double of 38 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Osaka Evessa (#3, 19-19) 87-76. It allowed Toshiba BT to consolidate first place in the Japanese league. Toshiba BT have a solid 32-6 record. In the team's last game Fazekas had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Toshiba BT, through which he has constantly improved. The University of Nevada graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fazekas is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.1ppg. Fazekas is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.3rpg) and averages solid 58.8% FGP and 43.3% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Parker (202-F-81) of Chiba Jets. He is American forward in his first season at Chiba Jets. In the last game Parker recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Chiba Jets to edge slightly higher-ranked Nagoya DD (#2, 21-17) by 6 points 86-80. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Chiba Jets consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 25-13 record is not bad at all. Parker is a newcomer at Chiba Jets and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Josh Childress (203-F/G-83) of league's second-best Sanen. Childress scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Childress' great performance Sanen lost 88-93 to #1 ranked Tochigi Brex. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sanen needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Central. Their record is 22 victories and 16 lost games. Childress has a very solid season. In 18 games in Japan he scored 16.2ppg. He also has 8.6rpg, 1.1bpg and FGP: 55.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Clint Chapman (208-F/C-89) of Niigata Albirex - 33 points and 10 rebounds
5. Diante Garrett (196-PG-88) of Toyota Alvark - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Kevin Kotzur (203-F-89) of Kyoto Hannar. - 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Jeffrey Gibbs (188-F-80) of Tochigi Brex - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jerome Tillman (201-F-87) of Nagoya DD - 36 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Pape Faye (200-C-87) of Yokohama BC - 10 points and 17 rebounds
10. Zack Baranski (193-G/F-92) of Toyota Alvark - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
