Maduabum
Nigerian Forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-F-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kagoshima, receiving a Court Side B League D2 Player of the Week award for round 40.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds, while his team Kagoshima maintains the 6th position in their group in Japanese B League D2. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 33 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Maduabum had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Chukwudiebere Maduabum averages this season 11.8ppg and 8.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90) of Kagawa FA. Tapscott had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Kagawa FA was edged by the higher-ranked Fukushima (#2, 23-15) 83-79. Kagawa FA managed to keep the same 5th spot in East. 27 lost games are too many comparing to just eleven victories Kagawa FA managed to get this year. Tapscott is a newcomer at Kagawa FA, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.2ppg (#3). He also registered 8.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Deon Jones (198-G-93) of Tokyo Z (#3). Jones scored 21 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Jones' great performance Tokyo Z lost 58-73 to #1 ranked Shimane SM. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Tokyo Z ranking at the top of West, however are very questionable as they have already lost 23 games, recording just sixteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jones could help Tokyo Z to bring them higher in the standings. Jones has a great season in Japan. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.3ppg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jordan Vandenberg (216-C-90) of Nishinomiya S. - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Ryan Reid (204-C/F-86) of Shimane SM - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Josh Davis (203-F-91) of Shimane SM - 16 points and 10 rebounds
7. Chad Posthumus (211-C-91) of Shinshu BW - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Scootie Randall (198-F-90) of Cyberdyne IR - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-C-88) of Yamagata - 20 points and 15 rebounds
10. Terrance Shannon (203-F-90) of Fukushima - 14 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
