Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (B League) signed 30-year old American center David Weaver (207-113kg-87, college: Wake Forest) from Shiga L-Stars. In 28 B League games in Japan he had 8.7ppg and 6.1rpg this season. The last season Weaver played at Afyon Bld in Turkish TBL where in 27 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.0ppg and 7.5rpg. Great season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TBL 3rd Team. He is quite experienced player. Weaver has played also professionally in Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg), Greece (Ilysiakos), Lithuania (Siauliai), Poland (Energa Czarni and MKS Dabrowa Gornicza), Portugal (Benfica) and Ukraine (DniproAzot). He attended Wake Forest University until 2010 and it is his seventh season as a professional player. Weaver could be described:

The 25-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Hokkaido L. (#5, 26-27) 73-71. Kyoto Hannar. will need more victories to improve their 32-21 record. Smith turned to be Kyoto Hannar.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former Georgetown University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.8ppg), rebounds (7th best: 9.4rpg) and averages impressive 67.4% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old American Nick Fazekas (211-F/C-85) of Toshiba BT. Fazekas had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Toshiba BT cruised to a 79-67 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked San-en (#3, 23-30). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in East. Toshiba BT consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team's 36-18 record is not bad at all. Fazekas is one of the most experienced players at Toshiba BT and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#2). He also registered 10.8 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American center JR Sakuragi (206-C-76) of league's top team SeaHorses. Sakuragi showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, six rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of SeaHorses, leading his team to a 93-91 win against the lower-ranked Shimane SM (#6, 8-45). SeaHorses confirms their top position in West. Sakuragi has a great season in Japan. After 53 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.3apg (4th best). JR Sakuragi has also Japanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-F/C-92) of Hiroshima D.. Traylor impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Hiroshima D. to edge the lower-ranked Tokyo Z (#6, 20-33) by 4 points 89-85. Hiroshima D.'s 3rd position in Central has not changed. His team's 29-24 record is not bad at all. Traylor is one of the most experienced players at Hiroshima D. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was American Reginald Warren (204-F-81) of Kagawa FA (#5). Warren scored 28 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kagawa FA, leading his team to a 79-70 win against slightly higher-ranked Sendai 89ers (#4, 20-33). The chances of Kagawa FA not to end season at such low position in East, however are less than slim as they have already lost 33 games, recording just eighteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Warren could try to bring Kagawa FA's a little bit higher in the standings. Warren has individually a great season in Japan. After 51 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.7ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 12.2rpg (#1 in league).

Cal State - Dominguez Hills graduate has very impressive stats this year. Herold is a newcomer at Tokyo Excel. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#5). He also registered 11.1 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Drew Martin (203-F-94, agency: Court Side) of Tokyo Cinq R. (#6). Martin scored 29 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Tokyo Cinq R., leading his team to a 90-85 win against the higher-ranked Tokyo Excel. (#3, 5-3). Tokyo Cinq R. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-7 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Martin he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Martin has individually a great season in Japan. After 40 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.1ppg (7th best), rebounds with 7.7rpg (7th best) and assists with 2.0apg (8th best).
