Josh Peppers
American Forward Josh Peppers (201-F-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Fukuoka Rizing, receiving a Asia-basket.com B League D3 Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Tokyo HT (#4, 14-10) with 25-point margin 81-56. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Fukuoka Rizing to consolidate first place in the Japanese B League D3. Fukuoka Rizing have a solid 21-3 record. In the team's last game Peppers had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Fukuoka Rizing, through which he has constantly improved. Former University of Central Florida star has very solid stats this year. Peppers is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.1ppg) and averages impressive 58.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old Eve Nyokozera (199-C-93) of Aisin AW. Nyokozera had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Aisin AW to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Toyoda Gosei (#8, 4-18) 82-49. Aisin AW's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 12-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Nyokozera is a newcomer at Aisin AW and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Alex Jones (206-F/C-87) of Tokyo HT (#4). Jones scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Jones' great performance Tokyo HT lost 56-81 to #1 ranked Fukuoka Rizing. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tokyo HT needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 14 victories and 10 lost games. Jones has a very solid season. In 28 games in Japan he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 7.0rpg and FGP: 55.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Edward Morris (204-C/F-84) of Tokyo HT - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Brent Jennings (193-G-88) of Saitama Bron. - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Gyno Pomare (203-F-86) of Kanazawa Sam. - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yusuke Ikeda (180-PG-88) of Tokyo HT - 22 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Tiras Wade (200-F-81) of Saitama Bron. - 18 points and 8 rebounds
9. Eiji Sumihiro (171-PG-89) of Toyoda Gosei - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Gyno Pomare (203-F-86) of Kanazawa Sam. - 19 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Hatano
Hatano is back at Shimane Magic - 7 days ago
Shimane Susanoo Magic (B League D2) signed experienced 35-year old naturalized Brazilian forward Kazuya Hatano (192-97kg-82). It is actually his comeback to Shimane Magic as he has played here before. Hatano played last season at Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa in the B League. In 60 games he had just 2.8ppg and 2.5rpg.
