Chehales
Tapscott
American Chehales Tapscott (195-F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for Bambitious Nara and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com BJ League Player of the Week award for round 35.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 33 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team lost the game against Osaka Evessa (#5, 20-13) 76-86. Bambitious Nara maintains the 9th position in their group in Japanese BJ League. Bambitious Nara is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 23th lost game this season out of 33 games. Tapscott turned to be Bambitious Nara's top player in his first season with the team. Portland State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Tapscott is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 54.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American forward Terrance Shannon (203-F-90) of Fukushima. Shannon impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Fukushima to another comfortable win 95-77 over slightly higher-ranked Shinshu BW (#7, 13-18) being unquestionably team leader. Fukushima's 9th position in Eastern has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-22 record. Shannon is a newcomer at Fukushima and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jeral Davis (216-C-84) of Sendai 89ers (#4). Davis scored 17 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Sendai 89ers, leading his team to a 74-52 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Aomori Watts (#6, 17-16). Sendai 89ers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Eastern. Their record at this point is 21 victories and 12 lost games. Davis has a very solid season. In 15 games in Japan he scored 11.3ppg. He also has 7.9rpg, 2.6bpg and FGP: 53.8%. Davis attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dexter Lyons (198-F/G-81) of Takamatsu FA - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Bingo Merriex (206-F-80) of Shimane SM - 21 points and 12 rebounds
6. Sam Willard (205-F-88) of Toyama Grouses - 10 points and 16 rebounds
7. Patrick Sullivan (206-C-88) of Niigata Albirex - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Yu Okada (184-SG-83) of Shiga L-Stars - 32 points and 5 rebounds
9. Joshua Dollard (203-F-86) of Osaka Evessa - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Reginald Warren (204-F-81) of Kyoto Hannar. - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
