28-year old guard Wendell White (198-G-84, agency: Top Notch Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Hamamatsu P. and receives a Asia-basket.com BJ League Player of the Week award for round 27.
He had the game-high 28 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Hamamatsu P. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Fukuoka Rizing (#4, 16-9) 104-89. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Hamamatsu P. maintains the 2nd position in Japanese BJ League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hamamatsu P. will need more victories to improve their 18-9 record. In the team's last game White had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hamamatsu P.'s top player in his first season with the team. University of Nevada - Las Vegas graduate has very impressive stats this year. White is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 8.5rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Joe Werner (201-C-84) of Chiba Jets. He is American center in his first season at Chiba Jets. In the last game Werner recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he lead Chiba Jets to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Saitama Bron. (#11, 3-20) 90-67. Chiba Jets' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-12 record. Werner is a newcomer at Chiba Jets and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#7). He also registered 10.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jeral Davis (216-C-84) of Shimane SM (#3). Davis scored 29 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Davis' great performance Shimane SM lost 90-91 to the lower-ranked Miyazaki SS (#10, 4-21). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Shimane SM needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 16 victories and 9 lost games. Davis has a very solid season. In 25 games in Japan he scored 14.2ppg. He also has 7.4rpg, 3.5bpg and FGP: 55.9%. Davis attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Takuma Yamashiro (167-PG-85) of Saitama Bron. - 22 points and 16 rebounds
5. Marshall Brown (199-F-85) of Akita NH - 35 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Kenji Sato (180-G-79) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 23 points and 14 rebounds
7. Chris Holm (212-C-84) of Niigata Albirex - 12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Chris Holm (212-C-84) of Niigata Albirex - 12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Dillion Sneed (203-C-84) of Iwate Big Bulls - 24 points and 10 rebounds
10. Anthony McHenry (202-SF-83) of Okinawa GK - 21 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
