JBL All-Star Game took plat at the Park Arena Komaki, Aichi Prefecture. The East Selection outgunned their West opponents 126:119 for the win. Jeff Gibbs (188-F-80, college: Otterbein) delivered 24 pints and 14 boards to pace the winners.
West got to a strong start. They fired 36 points in the opening frame to take a 7-point lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter. West arrived at halftime up by 7 points 63:56. However East turned things around in the third term. They went on a 34:20 rally to surge ahead. West did not surrender though. East were up by two points late in regulation however Jameel Watkins (211-C/F-77, college: Georgetown) sank two free throws to send the game into overtime. Takuya Kawamura (193-G-86) and Jeff Gibbs teamed up for the East selection in the extra period and led their team to the win. Tyler Smith (203-F/C-80, college: Penn St.) and Takuya Kawamura provided 17 points each for East. Takehiko Orimo (190-G-70) and Joji Takeuchi (207-F/C-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 20 points apiece for the winners. Jameel Watkins answered with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the West selection. Takatoshi Furukawa (190-G/F-87) had 19 points in the loss.

Toyota Alvark Tokyo (B League) inked experienced 34-year old American forward Jawad Williams (204-101kg-83, college: N.Carolina). He played most recently at Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia in Italian Serie A. Williams managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 11 Serie A games he recorded 3.9ppg and 2.3rpg. Toyota Alvark Tokyo (B League) landed 26-year old American center Alex Kirk (211-114kg-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports). He played most recently at Anadolu Efes in Turkish BSL league. Kirk managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 10 BSL games he averaged 9.0ppg and 3.2rpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
