Akita Northern Happinets (BJ League) cut 31-year old American forward T.J. Cummings (205-101kg-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports). In 12 BJ League games he played this season he was sixth best scorer with impressive 19.3ppg and recorded 7.7rpg and 1.7apg.
The last season Cummings played at Oita Heat Devils. In 51 BJ League games last year he was fifth best scorer with impressive 21.1ppg and averaged 9.6rpg and 1.3apg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-BJ League Honorable Mention.
The previous (10-11) season Cummings played at LG Sakers in South Korean KBL. In 47 games he had 6.3ppg and 3.0rpg.
Three years ago (five years after he left the college) Cummings was drafted by Idaho Stampede (D-League) in fourth round (50th overall).
The former Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles star is in his ninth season in pro basketball.
His team made it to the Korean KBL Semifinals in 2008.
Cummings is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Belgium (Liege Basket), China, Puerto Rico (Maratonistas), NBA (Milwaukee Bucks) and D-League (New Mexico Thunderbirds, Springfield Armor, Los Angeles D-Fenders and Maine Red Claws).
