Jonathan
Jones
Experienced American Jonathan Jones (211-C-79, agency: TSS Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for Tokyo Cinq R. and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com BJ League Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 33-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Saitama Bron. (#10, 2-10) 97-88. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains the 8th position in Japanese BJ League. Tokyo Cinq R. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-9 record. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tokyo Cinq R.'s top player in his first season with the team. Jones has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.0ppg) and rebounds (9th best: 10.3rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American forward Marquin Chandler (202-F-82) of Chiba Jets. Chandler impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Chiba Jets cruised to a 85-76 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Sendai 89ers (#9, 5-9). This victory allowed Chiba Jets to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Chandler is a newcomer at Chiba Jets and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Anthony McHenry (202-SF-83) of top-ranked Okinawa GK. McHenry showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Okinawa GK, leading his team to a 123-50 easy win against the lower-ranked Oita H.Devils (#5, 9-7). Okinawa GK have amazing season winning all 14 games without a single defeat. McHenry turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. McHenry has a very solid season. In 13 games in Japan he scored 16.4ppg. He also has 8.8rpg, 2.5spg and FGP: 63.8%.

4. Kenji Sato (180-G-79) of Tokyo Cinq R. - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dion Harris (190-G-85) of Akita NH - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
