Ricky Woods
28-year old swingman Ricky Woods (194-F/G-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for Miyazaki SS and receives a BJ League Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Oita H.Devils (#2, 9-5) 86-75. Miyazaki SS is placed at 9th position in Japanese BJ League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 12 games and recorded just two victories. Woods turned to be Miyazaki SS's top player in his first season with the team. Ricky Woods averages this season 15.5ppg and 7.0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Joe Werner (201-C-84) of Chiba Jets. He is American center in his first season at Chiba Jets. In the last game Werner recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he lead Chiba Jets to another comfortable win 88-74 over the higher-ranked Akita NH (#3, 9-3) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Chiba Jets to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Werner is a newcomer at Chiba Jets and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#4). He also registered 10.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ira Brown (193-F-82, agency: SDJ Sports) of league's second-best Toyama Grouses. Brown scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Toyama Grouses, leading his team to a 81-70 win against #4 ranked Niigata Albirex in a game of the week. Toyama Grouses needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Brown has a very solid season. In 16 games in Japan he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 8.8rpg, 3.9apg, 2.3spg, 1.9bpg and FGP: 54.5%.

5. Marquin Chandler (202-F-82) of Chiba Jets - 22 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Leonardo Pomare (203-F-86) of Kyoto Hannar. - 14 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

10. Cyrus Tate (203-F/C-85) of Oita H.Devils - 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
