Cyrus Tate
American Cyrus Tate (203-F/C-85) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Oita H.Devils and that's him to receive a BJ League Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 27-year old power forward had a double-double of 26 points and nineteen rebounds, while his team beat Miyazaki SS (#10, 1-12) 77-72. Oita H.Devils is placed at 2nd position in Japanese BJ League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Oita H.Devils will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. Tate turned to be Oita H.Devils' top player in his first season with the team. Cyrus Tate averages this season 17.2ppg and 8.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American forward Michael Parker (202-F-81) of Shimane SM. Parker impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Shimane SM to edge the lower-ranked Osaka Evessa (#9, 1-9) by 5 points 82-77. This victory allowed Shimane SM to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 9-5 record is not bad at all. Parker is well-known by Shimane SM fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#6). He also registered 9.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Nigerian Reggie Okosa (208-F/C-80, agency: Top Notch Sports) of top-ranked Iwate Big Bulls. Okosa showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, seventeen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Iwate Big Bulls, leading his team to a 89-84 win against the lower-ranked Yokohama BC (#6, 7-5). Iwate Big Bulls confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 3 lost games. Okosa has a very solid season. In 14 games in Japan he scored 14.5ppg. He also has 9.2rpg, 3.3apg, 1.3bpg and FGP: 57.3%.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

B League Round 10: Leader Tochigi Brex loses to Toyota Alvark - 8 hours ago

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in B League, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. There were many interesting games last round. American Forward Nick Fazekas (211-F-85) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Toshiba BT, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 9. The 31-year old player had a double-double of 39 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed Toyama Grouses (#6, 1-9) with 22-point margin 112-90. Third-ranked Bambitious Nara (4-6) gave a tough game to first ranked Nishinomiya S. (9-1) in Hyogo on Sunday. Nishinomiya S. managed to secure only three-point victory 92-89.
