Japan recorded the third win at the William Jones Cup. They knocked down Malaysia in Taiwan for 3-1 record. Mio Shinozaki (166-PG-91) scored 16 points to pace the winners.
Japan secured a 22:13 lead ten minutes into the game. They poured in 29 points in the second quarter to boost the margin. Japan stayed in front in the third quarter. Moreover they extended the margin to as many as 37 points before the final frame. Japan outscored Malaysia 22:0 in the final quarter to seal a comfortable win at the end. Kaede Kondo and Yuka Kosuge added 12 points each for Japan. Sook Ping Choo (173-88) answered with 9 points for Malaysia. Ching Yee Yap (192-C-91) had 6 points in the loss.
