JX Sunflowers take 2-0 Final lead to make one step away from the title. The winner of the Regular Season beat Toyota 77:60 in Game 2.
The game was mostly controlled by JX Sunflowers. Toyota A. managed to win second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JX Sunflowers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota A.'s 30.
The former international swingman Rika Tanaka (173-G/F-82) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Lynn Kibayashi (184-C/F-89) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. At the losing side international guard Emi Kudeken (165-G-84) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Kazumi Suzuki (177-F-86) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

WJBL Round 8: Toyota A. edges Aishin Wings by three points - 4 days ago

Tenth-ranked Aishin Wings (0-6) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Toyota A. (6-0) in Anjo on Sunday. The visitors from Nagoya managed to secure only three-point victory 61-58. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 25-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Japanese WJBL round 7 best performance: Maki Takada - 4 days ago

Former international Power forward Maki Takada (183-F/C-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Denso Iris, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 7. The 27-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Niigata R. (#11, 0-5) with 34-point margin 97-63. WJBL Round 7 of Regular Season - 5 days ago

The most interesting game of round 7 in the WJBL was a home defeat of 7th ranked Haneda Vickies (2-3) by sixth ranked Fujitsu RW (3-2) who outscored them by 19 points 70-51. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-51.
