Al Shurtah - Al Mina loses to 97-80

Al Shurtah defeated Al Mina 97-80 in first game of Final 6 stage of Superleague. It was a superb battle of both teams superstars - Justin Hawkins (203-SF-85, college: N.Mexico St.) and Bobby Brown (201-G/F-94, college: Alabama St.). Hawkins led the winners with 45 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists on 53 shooting. On the other side Brown responded with double-double of 29 points, 12 rebounds and added 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block on 50% shooting.

First defeat ofAl Hilla (0-1) against Al Kahraba (1-0) 91-75 was the most important game of the last round. Al Hilla will play next round against Al Nift trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Al Kahraba will try to continue on its current victory against Sulaf at home. Newly promoted Gymnastikos Larissa-Faros BC (A1) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old Iraqi international point guard Kevin Galloway (200-98kg-88, college: Texas Southern). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Galloway played most recently at Homenetmen in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Nift Al-Janoub (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-104kg-84, college: Middle Tennessee State). He played in the summer at Zonkeys de Tijuana in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 27 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 6.1rpg, 4.5apg and 1.4spg.
