The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Shurtah (9-1) in Baghdad on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Al Nift (8-2) 78-71. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Al Nift have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nift Al-Janoub. Al Shurtah at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Al Nift's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Baghdad to the arena Iraqi Airways.
11th ranked Al Suleikh (1-10) was outscored at home by third ranked Nift Al-Janoub (8-2) with the biggest margin this round 102-55. Nift Al-Janoub have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Nift. Al Suleikh at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Nift Al-Janoub will play against bottom-ranked Zakho (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Suleikh's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Baghdad Al Kahraba.

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Al Karkh (6-5) smashed at home 8th ranked Al-Tadamoun (4-6) 128-96. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 6-5 record. Al-Tadamoun lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Al Karkh will play against higher ranked Al Mina (#5) in Basra in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al-Tadamoun will play on the road against the league's leader Al Shurtah in Baghdad and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Iran roll over Iraq at the West Asian U-18 Championship - 5 days ago
Iran rolled over Iraq 109-50 at the West Asian U-18 Championship in Jordan. Iran exploded with a 29-10 surge and led 40-27 at the halftime. Moreover they nailed 32 and 37 points respectively in the third and the last quarters for the final success. Arabzadeh stepped up with 24 points and Dalirzahan notched 23.
