Iraqi basketball federation named 49 years old experience Iraqi coach Kosay Hatem as new head coach of Iraqi Senior National Team, coach Kosay already started the preparations for upcoming West Asia Championship competition which will be held at the end of May, he was member of Iraqi national team before as player .. and he has long experience around Middle-east as coach in Lebanon, Syria and Qatar .. he spent his last 6 seasons with Al Gharafa Doha and he made huge success with the team he won Emir Cup 3 times in 2010, 2011, 2014 Qatari Cup two times 2015, 2016 and league title in 2014, he also was Assistant coach of Lebanon NT in World Championships in Japan 2006.
On the other hand Iraqi basketball federation signed with Kevin Galloway (200-PG-88, college: Texas Southern) to be new naturalized player for Senior National team for upcoming events .. Kevin who almost averaged triple double this season in Qatar with averaging 16.4ppg, 10.3rpg, Assists-1 (9.3apg), 1.8spg, FGP: 47.4%, 3PT: 20.0%, FT: 66.7% in 21 games in the league suppose to join Iraqi National Team training camp after he gets done from his contract with Homenetmen Beirut in Lebanese League .. he played in Greece, Japan and D League before and he graduated from Texas Southern University in 2011.

Newly promoted Gymnastikos Larissa-Faros BC (A1) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old Iraqi international point guard Kevin Galloway (200-98kg-88, college: Texas Southern). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Galloway played most recently at Homenetmen in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Nift Al-Janoub (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-104kg-84, college: Middle Tennessee State). He played in the summer at Zonkeys de Tijuana in Mexican CIBACOPA. In 27 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 6.1rpg, 4.5apg and 1.4spg. Al-Naft win Perseverance Cup 2017 - 2 days ago
Al Kahrabaa - Al-Naft 63-92 Al-Naft won Perseverance Cup 2017 beating Al Kahrabaa 92-63. Al-Naft took a 23-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of the game but led only 4 at the halftime. Al-Naft managed to win the third frame 26-20 and then erupted in the last stanza. They sealed a comfortable victory due to a massive 32-13 surge.
