Al Karkh grabs 2015-2016 Iraqi league title for its 18th time in the club history !!

Finally Al Karkh won the Iraqi league title again after they beat Al Mina (The Black horse of the league this season) in the final serieis 4/2 "Games which played in the regular season counted in the series result"
the results of this 6 games were:
Regular Season: Game 1 (30th,Oct,2015): Al Mina 64-70 Al Karkh
Regular Season: Game 2 (12th,Feb,2016): Al Karkh 74-79 Al Mina
Final Four: Game 3 (05th,March,2016): Al Mina 61-84 Al Karkh
Finals: Game 4 (17th,March,2016): Al Karkh 63-75 Al Mina
Finals: Game 5 (19th,March,2016): Al Mina 72-79 Al Karkh
Finals: Game 6 (21th,March,2016): Al Karkh 75-66 Al Mina

Its the 18th league tittle in Al Karkh club history, but its the first league tittle since the Iraqi federation allow teams to sign with foreign players since season 2012-2013, the coach Mohammed Najjar won the league for his 8th time in his history, he took the head coach position of team in February.
On the other hand Al Mina was the biggest surprise in the league this season, the team wasnot between the top candidates to fight on the league tittle, but the coach of team Asad Alawi and management of team knew how to build good team compete on the tittle, they were the first team which started the preparation for the season.

Congrats for Al Karkh Staff and Players for winning the league tittle, and hardluck for Al Mina staff and players you had really great season guys !!

The Regular Season in Superleague just ended. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Kahraba as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Kahraba defeated 3rd placed Al Shurtah in Baghdad 97-84. IBL Round 22: Al Kahraba beats Al Karkh by one after a very close game - 6 days ago
Here is the last round review presented by ESL. Fourth-ranked Al Karkh (11-7) was very close to win a game against third ranked Al Kahraba (15-2) in Baghdad on Sunday. Al Kahraba managed to secure only one-point victory 99-98. However their fans expected easier game. Al Kahraba have an impressive five-game winning streak. Quinton Doggett (ex Al Shurtah) signs at Al-Ittihad - 9 days ago
QUINTON DOGGETT Al-Ittihad (Premier League) landed 28-year old American forward Quinton Doggett (206-100kg-90, college: Southern). He played recently at Al Shurtah in Iraqi IBL league. Doggett also played for Al-Ahli earlier that season where in 10 IBL games he averaged impressive 18.3ppg, 12.7rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg this season. He was also selected League Player of the Week.
