Mike Martin
Moncton Miracles (NBL Canada) inked 31-year old American forward Mike Martin (203-104kg-85, college: Cal State - Chico). He played recently at Al Shurtah in Iraqi Superleague. Martin also played at The Storm earlier that season. In 12 Superleague games he averaged 12.4ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.3apg this season. The last summer he played at Pioneros Los Mochis (CIBACOPA) in Mexican league. In 8 games he had very impressive stats: 16.9ppg, 10.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg. The last (2015) season Martin played at Halifax Rainmen. In 5 NBL Canada games he had 11.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.0bpg.
The previous (13-14) season he played at Somouha (Superleague) in Egypt.
Among other achievements Martin played in the final of WCBL for two years in a row (2009 and 2010).
He has played also professionally in Australia (NW Tasmania Thunder), ABA (LA Slam) and WCBL (LA Loop).
Martin attended Cal State - Chico until 2008 and it is his eighth season in pro basketball.
His game is described as: Michael Martin is a well-rounded, focused ball player that listens eagerly, executes with no questions asked, and is ready to take his game to the next level. Mike's game is fueled by his enormous force on defense and exudes the physical talent that enables him to be a versatile player, a clever defender, with second nature anticipation guarding 3s, 4s and 5s. Shot blocking ability and a 7 foot wing-span, great lateral movement with on the ball defense. One of his best assets is his doubling down ability, which generates steals in large quantities. He is an excellent perimeter mid-range shooter and can pull the trigger right in-your-face with NBA 3pt range. Michael is a team player who plays unselfishly, he is very coachable and poised and can deliver each time. Michael is humble and charming spirit, who works hard and consistently, each year adding new elements to his game.

Iran roll over Iraq at the West Asian U-18 Championship - 5 days ago
Iran rolled over Iraq 109-50 at the West Asian U-18 Championship in Jordan. Iran exploded with a 29-10 surge and led 40-27 at the halftime. Moreover they nailed 32 and 37 points respectively in the third and the last quarters for the final success. Arabzadeh stepped up with 24 points and Dalirzahan notched 23. Superleague Round 18: Top-ranked Al Nift wins another game - 23 days ago
Superleague top team - Al Nift (13-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya (1-14) in Baghdad 107-80. Al Nift have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Al-Khtot Al-Jawiya keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. Superleague Round 17: Al Nift defeats Al Karkh in the closest game of the week - 25 days ago
The most exciting game of round 17 in the Superleague took place in Al Karkh. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Al Karkh (10-4) to first ranked Al Nift (12-2) 94-91 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Al Karkh. Al Nift have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-2 record.
