Duhok celebrated the initial win at the Asia Club Championship. The Iraqi team held off Falcons for 1-2 record. Jenero Gorgiss (185-G/F-82) exploded with 33 points to pace the winners.
The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. Duhok grabbed a narrow 19:17 lead after ten minutes. Gradually the Iraqi team stretched the lead. Duhok ensured a 42:30 halftime advantage. Duhok maintained the pressure throughout the third term. They accumulated a 75:46 advantage at the final intermission. Duhok did not slow down in the fourth period and rallied to the victory. Kendall Dartez (207-C/F-80, college: Louisville) netted 17 points, while Mohammed Mahdi (204-F/C-80) contributed 13 points for the winning side. Munkhtuvshin Davaadorj (SG-89) responded with 15 points for Falcons. Nemekhbayar Battulga (G-81) had 13 points in the loss.

Saigon Heat (VBA) landed 29-year old American power forward Travele Jones (203-88, college: Texas Southern). He played most recently at Nift Al-Janoub in Iraqi Superleague. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Honorable Mention.
