Mahram registered the second victory at the start of Asia Club Championship. The Iranian team rallied past Duhok to stay undefeated at 2-0 record. Ratko Varda (215-C/F-79, agency: Beo Basket) and Samad Nik Khahbahrami (199-F-83) finished with 18 points each to lead the winners.
Iran poured in 29 points in the opening quarter to ensure a 17-point lead. They maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. Mahram arrived at halftime up by as many as 19 points 50:31. Mahram totally dominated in the third frame. They built a 32-point advantage at the final intermission. Duhok managed just 13 points in the fourth frame as Mahram cruised to the victory. Mahdi Kamrani (186-PG-82) netted 15 points and issued 6 assists for the winners. Antonio Webb (178-G-84, college: Beth.-Cookman) answered with 11 points for Duhok. Ali Ismael (200-PF-94) chipped in 10 points for the Iraqi team.

Al Nift Baghdad (Superleague) signed 22-year old American forward Shaheed Davis (206-95kg-94, college: Cent.Florida). He already started the season at DBL Sharks Sheffield in British BBL league, but left the team in Oct.'16. In four games he had very impressive stats: 16.0ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.5bpg this season. Newly promoted Zakho (Superleague) added to their roster 28-year old American forward Denzel Jackson (198-88, college: American International). He played most recently at Island Storm in Canadian NBL. Jackson won APBL championship title. He was selected to APBL All-Star Game in 2015. Al-Tadamoun (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old American forward Tre Johnson (203-102kg-91, college: Hawaii-Hilo) from Al Nift. The last season Johnson played at Gmunden Swans in Austria A Bundesliga where in 34 games he recorded 7.3ppg and 3.9rpg.
